The new station will include a 350 foot long high level, heated boarding platform capable of accommodating 4 Shoreliner coaches. As of 2022, the project is fully funded and expected to break ground 4 months after a bidder is chosen for the project expected construction will start around October, 2022. The new station received 12.6 million in Federal Funds 6 days later and later received another 12.4 from the State of Connecticut on December 21, 2021. Paired with the development of Route 34 and the new Derby-Shelton Bridge, the new station will function as a new multimodal center for Derby and its new residents. With the completion of the Waterbury Branch Signalization project upgrading capacity for future 30 minute service headways, Governor Lamont announced on Novemthat 7 new trains will be coming to the Waterbury Line in 2022 and the Derby-Shelton Train Station was a priority in getting new riders onto the line. The 75-space parking lot is managed by the Naugatuck Valley Council of Governments. The station is owned and operated by the Connecticut Department of Transportation, but Metro-North is responsible for maintaining platform lighting as well as trash and snow removal. The station has one three-car-long low-level side platform to the west of the single track. It is the southernmost stop on the Waterbury Branch before trains merge onto the Northeast Corridor. I expect a refund for this scheduling disaster.Derby–Shelton station (signed as Derby/Shelton) is a commuter rail station on the Waterbury Branch of the Metro-North Railroad New Haven Line, serving the cities of Derby and Shelton, Connecticut. Of note the greyhound office at this station was closed and there was no one I could talk to in person about this issue. Later he called someone and told me two bus had been combined, however I never received an email or any notification of this. He stated he believed the bus driver drove straight threw to Boston. He was unprofessional, raised his voice to me, and told me that most of the drivers for you company were new, didn’t know to stop in New Haven and “probably never stopped here”. Also the driver of bus 2090 was incredibly rude. I would like to make it clear that I left New Haven 2.5 hours later than my scheduled time. At 9:02pm the Bolt Bus number 2090 I believe arrived to New Haven, allowed me on the bus, and left New Haven as scheduled at 9:30pm. There was no bus to pick me up at New Haven between 8:40 and 9:00pm. They told me the bus was delayed by two hours, it would pick me up at new haven and head to Boston now at 9:00pm and that they had sent me an email. They told me they could not track the bus. I was unable to track the location of the bus online via greyhound or bolt. The bus did not arrive to New Haven to pick me up at 7:00pm. This bus trip was booked through greyhound on a Bolt Bus. I am requesting a refund for my trip from New Haven to Boston (South Station) on that was scheduled to depart New Haven at 7:00pm. Hopefully this might be helpful for future passengers! At Union Station there is a separate lot for Greyhound–BoltBus does not pick up in this lot, they still pick up at the curb outside. Your "BoltBus" may actually be a Greyhound bus (Greyhound owns BoltBus). The BoltBus app has a bus tracker (mine wasn't working but a fellow waiting passenger was able to use). My bus was scheduled to leave at 6:45 but it did not show up until 8:15. This route actually starts in NYC and New Haven is an intermediate stop between NYC & BOS, so departure time is not set in stone–it is dependent on NYC traffic. The bus picks up at the curb in front of the parking garage (when walking out of the terminal, it is to the right on Union Ave.) Some important things to know about this stop that they don't say on the BoltBus site or with your ticket, or on the phone with customer service (if you've used BoltBus before you may already know some of this): Writing this as there does not seem to be much existing information on this stop, and I'd hope to save others some of the confusion that I went through. Union Station is apparently a new stop for them. I recently used BoltBus for a trip from New Haven to Boston.
